 LOCAL RULES

Brook and Bridge

  1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 27)
    1. Beyond any boundary fence or line of white stakes.
    2. Beyond the nearest rail of the railway line from the strainer post at the right of the 12th green to the 13th tee; adjoining the 13th hole; and from the 18th tee to the commencement of white stakes at the railway bridge.
    3. Over the burn on the right of the 16th and 17th holes.

  2. WATER HAZARDS (Rule 26)
    1. Limits of LATERAL marked by red states.
    2. Limits of ORDINARY marked by yellow stakes.

  3. GROUND UNDER REPAIR (Rule 25)
    1. Areas marked as GUR or enclosed with white lines
    2. Tree plantations marked with blue stakes (Play is prohibited from these areas).

  4. TREES
    Staked or protected trees are Immovable Obstructions from which relief MUST be taken under Rule 24-2b(i). If a staked or protected tree interferes with a player's stance or area of his intended swing, the ball MUST be lifted, without penalty, and dropped within one club length from the nearest point of relief not nearer the hole.

  5. SEEDED AREAS
    When a ball lies in or touches a seeded area or re-seeded divot, it MUST be lifted, without penalty, and dropped at the nearest point not nearer the hole which avoids such condition

  6. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS
    Gravel paths, bridges (but not above a water hazard), hydro poles, wooden seats, manhole covers and ball-washer stands are deemed immovable obstructions. Relief may be obtained, without penalty, under Rule 24-2.

  7. OVERHEAD WIRES
    If a ball strikes overhead wires or supporting pole, the shot MUST be replayed immediately, without penalty, as near as possible from the spot at which the original ball was played.

  8. FIXED SPRINKLER HEADS
    All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions. Inaddition to relief under Rule 24-2, if such an obstruction on or within two club lengths of the putting green intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hold and if the ball lies within two club lengths of the obstruction but not on the putting green or in a hazard, it may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where it lay which is not nearer the hold, avoids such intervention and is not in a hazard or on a putting green.

  9. Any Temporary Local Rules defined on the Notice Board.
    Penalty for breach of a Local Rule
    Match Play - Loss of a hole;
    Stroke Play - 2 strokes.


    NOTE
    Players MUST NOT enter adjoining fields and properties to retrieve golf balls.
    Cutting-in is strictly forbidden unless the previous hole is completely clear.
    No Dogs are allowed on the course.
